Do you want to create lovely clothes for your sims? It can be challenging can't it? There are so many talented clothing creators out there that you just wonder.... how do they do it? Well, they all started somewhere. So don't you be expecting to make master pieces your first time around! Start out simple and then, some day you too will be making nice clothes!
The easiest way to start is simple recolors. All you have to do is pick a favorite out, open it up on bodyshop, and then start working on it in paint, photoshop, or whatever you use! This isn't an article on a step by step process to make clothes, so you'll have to find a tutorial that's helpful for you yourself.
Now that you have the file open, try playing around with different colors. Make a pair of green jeans! Or an orange polka dotted shirt! Start out simple. Once you've gotten the hang of simple recolors, add designs or logos to what you make. Draw your own smiley face on the shirt or find a picture of a sim cat! All you have to do is copy and paste the image of your choice onto the article of clothing.
More advanced clothing will come to you eventually. Find helpful tutorials and try to understand how it all works. Soon you'll be making your own meshes and everyone will be pressuring you to make more clothes! For some people it just takes time to learn these things, but you just have to keep at it.
And once you feel like you've created something that others will enjoy, upload it! Let the world see what you've done! And most important, don't let down-raters get you down. You know you worked hard to make the clothes you made, it doesn't matter that there are people out there that will purposely give out bad scores. Usually they are the people that can't seem to make the good clothes themselves. But, don't steal someone else's work. It's just not fair to that person. I mean, would you want someone claiming something you made as their own. Having people download what you made off some other persons simpage? No. So, go try out making some clothes! And if you can't get it the first time, try, try again.
